每年的12月聖誕前都是”優雅長者茶聚”的时间。而这个”優雅長者茶聚”今年已经是第三个年头了。每年的这个时候一群70岁到90多岁的长者们都穿着整齐，满怀喜悦和欢欣的准时相聚在Devonport Stone Oven Bakery & Cafe。而这个纯私人组织的慈善聚会正是来自一位无私大爱的华人女士-奥克兰亚洲民族联络员Misty L创办的。在她的感染下，越来越多的成员自愿加入这个爱心的行列，他们用自己有限的能力给这群独居长者们无限的大爱。
Every year in December, Christmas is thetime for “Elegant Elderly Tea Gatherings”. And this ” ElegantElderly Tea Gatherings ” today it was the third year. At this time of theyear, a group of elders between 70s and 90s are dressed neatly and gather withjoy and at Devonport Stone Oven Bakery & Cafe. This purely private charitygathering was founded by Misty L, a selfless and loving Chinese lady. Under herinfluence, more and more members volunteered to join the ranks. They used theirlimited abilities to give this group of elders living alone infinite love.
他们每年都准时为这些长者们准备丰富的午歺和圣诞礼物。除此以外，长者们可以随意的下单自己想吃的食物和饮料。而每次聚会，长者们都一边品尝着美食，一边彼此分享着自己和身边发生的乐事。也会讲述一些过往的美好回忆。还有，毎次结束前都必须的来一个”全家福”，然后做成一个聖誕新年贺卡并亲自送到长者们的每一个人手里。看到每个长者接过带有”全家福”的贺卡时笑逐颜开的表情，义工们顿时感觉这比什么都值得了。
They prepare delicious lunches andChristmas gifts for these elders on time every year. In addition, they are freeto place orders for the food and drinks they want. At each party, the eldersshare their delights with each other while savoring delicious food. It willalso reflect on some good memories of the past. Also, All the elders andKindness guests will take the “family portrait” photoshoot before theend, which then is made into a Christmas and New Year greeting card for them tokeep. Seeing each elder smiling as they received a greeting card, thevolunteers felt that it was worth all the effort.
虽然，这是一个小小的聚会活动，而且个人的能力也有限，所以只能允许30人~40人参加，但我们希望透过这个小小的活动能带给老人家们快乐和幸福的感觉。让他们从此不觉得孤单，让他们感到还有一个温暖的大家庭。每个人都有老的时候，无论贫穷或富有，无论能力强或弱，他们的内心都希望能得到一份关爰。都希望得到别人的认同，得到别人的注意并与他们同在。而正因这个”優雅長者茶聚”让他们感觉到自己的存在价值，让他们之间多了一份从容、多了一份快乐，因而互相鼓励、互相共勉、互相扶持、互相分享着人生的喜怒哀乐。我们相信，这是生活中最富足的一种快乐，也是体现社会和谐，关爱无处不在的展现。我们希望社会上有更多的爱心人士来加入到这个行列来，尽可能把这种爱传遍到每一个社区，温暖到每一位独居长者心里。在这特别鸣谢这几年来一直支持和扶助”優雅長者茶聚”的义工善长人翁们。因为有你们的帮助以让这善举能坚持下去，因为有你们的帮助才能让爱传承并发扬光大，独居长者们会永远把你们铭记于心。
Although this is a small party event andpersonal capacity is limited, we can only allow 30 to 40 people to participate,but we hope that this small event will bring joy and happiness to the elderly.Let them never feel lonely, let them feel that there is still a warm extendedfamily. Everyone reaches old age, no matter they are poor or rich, no mattertheir ability is strong or weak, they all hope to be cared for. They all wantto get the approval of others, get their attention and be with them. Andbecause of this “Elegant Elderly Tea Gatherings”, they feel theirpersonal value, so that they have more peace and happiness, so they encourageeach other and support each other. We believe that this is the most abundantkind of happiness in life, and it is also an expression of social harmony andcare all around. We hope that more caring people in the society will join thisgroup, spreading this love to every community as much as possible and warmingto the hearts of every elder living alone. Special thanks go to the volunteersand elderly people who have supported and assisted the “elegantelders” in recent years. Because with your help, this kindness can besustained, because, with your help, love can be inherited and carried forward.The elders who live alone will always remember you in their hearts.
