Two Films Produced by a New Zealand Film Studio,
Night of the Hungry Ghost and Lost Dream Street, to Air This Saturday
Two early film works by Chinese-New Zealand filmmaker, artist, and writer Harry Wong (stage name: Wong Sing Dai) — Night of the Hungry Ghost (《靈霄》) and Lost Dream Street (《失梦街》) — will be broadcast again this Saturday at 8:30 p.m. on Face TV (Sky Channel 083).
Harry Wong (Chinese name: Wong Sing Dai / 黃成泰), born in 1943, is a veteran filmmaker, director, and producer. He is also a multidisciplinary artist active in film, visual arts, and literature.
His father was Chinese, while his mother was a distinguished New Zealand woman. As such, he is regarded as a Chinese-New Zealander artist, filmmaker, and cultural worker.
He has attracted attention in the development of contemporary art in New Zealand through his distinctive artistic style. Within the local arts community, he occupies a unique and irreplaceable position.
These two films embody his dedication, passion, and hard work in cinema and visual storytelling. We hope that these works can also be shown on platforms such as Facebook and others in the future, allowing more audiences the opportunity to appreciate the early creative achievements of this cross-disciplinary artist.
