新西兰警方举办2025年世界关注虐待老人宣传日活动

为纪念世界关注虐待老人宣传日,一场大型社区活动6月15日在奥克兰 West Arena举行,来自奥克兰各地的40多个族裔社区齐聚一堂,共同表达对长者的关爱与支持。

本次活动吸引了多位政要出席,包括老年人事务部长 Casey Costello 凯西·卡桑德拉阁下、国会议员 Melissa Lee及Carlos Zhang,还有高级警司Scott Gemmell斯科特·盖梅尔和Rakesh Naidoo拉基什·拉克什·奈杜以及奥克兰警局族裔事务总管杰西卡潘。海关部长、国会议员和高级警司们还特别致辞,重申政府致力于保护长者权益与尊严的决心。

活动现场内容丰富,呈现了30场各不同族裔的文化表演,涵盖传统音乐、舞蹈和走秀,同时设有60个展位,提供健康资讯、文化展示及长者支援服务,特别引人注意的是新西兰皮影戏工作室的中国皮影戏展区。

此次活动由新西兰警方主办,旨在提升公众对虐待长者问题的认知,倡导代际尊重,推动社区合作,为长者提供更多支持与资源。

活动气氛温馨热烈,充分体现了多元文化的团结与社会的关怀,共同传达出一个重要讯息:虐待老人必须被正视、预防与制止,需要全社会的共同努力。

To mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, a large-scale community event was held at West Arena 15th June 2025, bringing together over 40 ethnic communities from across Auckland in a powerful display of solidarity, respect, and support for elders.

The event featured a vibrant programme of 30 cultural performances showcasing traditional music, dance, and fashion show, alongside 60 community stalls offering resources, health information, cultural displays, and elder support services. A particularly eye-catching feature was the Chinese shadow puppetry exhibition area.

Dignitaries in attendance included the Minister of Seniors, Hon. Casey Costello, as well as MP Melissa Lee and MP Carlos Zhang, Police Superintendent Scott Gemmell and Rakesh Naidoo alao Ethnic Responsiveness Manager of Auckland Jessica Phuang. Minister of Seniors、MP and Police Superintendent did speech , they addressed the audience and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of older people in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Organised by the New Zealand Police, the event aimed to raise awareness about the issue of elder abuse, promote intergenerational respect, and connect communities with services that support the well-being of older adults.

The event was a heartening display of cultural unity and community care, underscoring the vital message that elder abuse must be recognised, prevented, and addressed through collective effort.
